Laminator recently installed in the UK
St. Johns Packaging, an important supplier of flexible packaging products to the baking industry is pleased to announce the purchase of a Comexi Nexus Dual laminator, recently installed at its Ilkeston, Derbyshire plant in Q1 2021.
The Combi laminator will allow St. Johns Packaging UK to expand its capabilities by producing laminated materials for the most demanding applications. The versatility of this machine was a key factor in the purchasing decision; it has capabilities to produce solvent-less, solvent-based and water-based laminations, on a broad range of substrates such as PET, OPA, PE, BOPP, Paper and Aluminum. The machine will also offer the capability of providing coated products, with potential for addition of matt, shiny or tactile lacquers and cold seal registered coatings.
St. Johns Packaging is excited to expand and invest in the UK, recognizing the market need for high quality materials produced domestically, mitigating Brexit risks, providing short lead times, and further developing economically viable sustainable packaging solutions. The Ilkeston site is already equipped to produce printed material up to 10- colors and wicket bags in a variety of shapes and formats. This addition represents an important step towards the growth plans of St. Johns Packaging in the UK bakery market.
